Open GL EGL crashed

Hello,
While playing Asphalt Unite the screen goes black and stays black as if it was running in the background. I can’t make any changes to the game, I can’t click on any of the options, and then when I was looking for the problem, I saw that OpenGL EGL crashed and gave me an error and stopped working. I tried to delete Mesa completely and reinstall it, I couldn’t remove it because of dependencies. Then I did a clean install on the system, that is, I installed manjaro via usb. At first everything seemed fine, after installing the unstable open source nvidia driver, I saw that it crashed again. and the kernel started to appear untainted. What should I do?

the error when i command eglinfo

I got this on journald when i play the game bef.

17.03.2025 11:22 kwin_wayland kwin_scene_opengl: 0x1: GL_INVALID_OPERATION in glDrawBuffers(unsupported buffer GL_BACK_LEFT)

Please check the CPU power profile - it may be undervolted - thus it may crash when processing demands increase but there is not enough juice to fuel the demand.

this crash does not happen during any performance. When I open openGL (EGL) from the info center, I get an error that the eglinfo tool crashed while creating the page. Also, where can I check my CPU power profile? I don’t know, I couldn’t find it.

eg. in my env.

Looking at the inxi output - it seems you are on unstable branch.

This would indicate - either a problem with the opensource Nvidia driver or a confuguration issue.

Nvidia is outside my knowledge - I admit I have been tempted to buy a laptop with Nvidia - but it would only be for testing Manjaro - and I am not sure the community would approve funding a laptop solely for such purpose.

Here is my cpu power profile. does it show a problem? the previous driver was freezing so I switched to unstable but more up to date drivers. can I go back to stable? how do I go back?

Nvidia comes in two flavors proprietary and open-source.

For kernel 6.12

  • linux612-nvidia
  • linux612-nvidia-open

You just have to choose which one you use - I cannot help you chosing - I don’t use Nvidia - so there is that.

I also see this behaviour. I don’t know if it is a widespread issue or if it affects eglinfo and kinfo only.

same error here
