Odroid N2 + Manjaro ARM 19.10

Hi,

Manjaro arm 19.10 bug report. I created for the third time an image for the n2
$ sudo buildarmoem -d on2 -e kde-plasma -v 19.10 -n

What device are you using?
odroid n2

What edition of Manjaro-ARM is installed? (eg minimal, server, etc.)
19.10 kde-plasma

When did you last run updates and reboot?
today 2019.10.21, see below

[nln2@n2 ~]$ su
Mot de passe :
[root@n2 nln2]# pacman -Syuu

:: Début de la mise à jour complète du système…
il n’y a rien à faire // the system is up to date !

What package contains the bug?
?

Describe the bug the best you can. What where you doing when the bug happened?
I follow the setup, reboot and nothing happen, black screen (I did it 3 time with 3 different image, Saturday 19, Sunday 20 and Monday 21)

Any workarounds or known fixes?
I can ssh the n2, see below

The n2 is working well with the 19.08 kde installed, flash and install on an other emmc module
(except corekeyboard, see my post with the corekeyboard bug report)

have a good day.

We have made no change to the Odroid N2 setup between 19.08 and 19.10 release.

Did you try updating the 19.08 install and reboot?

Thank's for your answer.

The n2 is working well with the actual 19.08 up to date.

Ok, I'll flash and install a new 19.08 to test it on an other emmc module.

If that works, then it's recommended to just use that, since we didn't do 19.10 images for the Odroid N2.

ok, the 19.08 n2 image boot without problem after install.

Your last n2 image is the 19.08

Your last c2 image is the 19.06
my c2 is running with a 19.06 image, I created a 19.10 c2 image not tested
I don't have the 19.08 c2 image...

Someone tested the 19.08 c2 image ?

There is no 19.08 C2 image.
People would have to build a new image (which would be 19.10 based now) themselves with the Manjaro ARM Tools or make an install with the Manjaro ARM Installer.

As I note in my release posts, we can't make images for all supported devices.

Hi,

There's no problem, I understand, You can't create image for all device, but we can create the image we need, it's the goal of Contributing to Manjaro-ARM

Now my question is :

Someone tested the 19.10 n2 image created with the Manjaro ARM Tools or make an install with the Manjaro ARM Installer ?

I haven't heard of any that as tested it. I don't have an Odroid N2 myself, but one of our other devs do.
But since we haven't really changed anything I can't imagine something breaking.

ok, wait and see for a test doing by the manjaro dev team

If I create an image for the c2 with this command :
[nicolas@nls-pc ~]$ sudo buildarmoem -d oc2 -e kde-plasma -v 19.08 -n

It will create an 19.08 c2 image or an image with the last manjaro improvement? I mean the 19.10

It will create an image from the current packages in the repo. The image will just be named 19.08, but will contain the newest packages.

ok, have a good day.

I stay tuned for a 19.10 n2 image feedback from the manjaro dev team.

Hi,

I tried to build a new image today 26/10, the issue is the same, I follow the setup, reboot and nothing happen, black screen

I created an image for the n2
$ sudo buildarmoem -d on2 -e kde-plasma -v 19.10_26-1 -n

Any workarounds or known fixes?
I can ssh the n2...

Now I try with xfce

XFCE 19.10 run with the n2

Does HW acc work on N2 with their custom kernel?

How to check it ?
with the command inxi ?
if yes, which inxi command ?

Try opening any browser like Chromium or Firefox

For chromium type this in address bar.
chrome://gpu

For Firefox
about:support

We tried building an internal Odroid N2 kde-plasma image for testing. And it booted for our dev without issue, with HDMI screen etc.

So we can't reproduce your issue. Sorry.

Thanks for your test

Strange, it's works with xfce and not with kde...

I tested the 2 image on the same emmc module and then on 2 different emmc module.

Spykerguy, is it what you need?

Hi,

I build a new n2 19.10 image, it is working now
I keep this image !

I note a difference with the fbturbo tty
