Octopi fails to start. When started from the command line the following message is displayed
Aborting octopi as 'checkupdates' binary could not be found! ["/usr/bin/checkupdates" ]
I ran
sudo pacman -Qo checkupdates
No joy. Any recommendations and suggestions?

checkupdates
is now provided by pacman-contrib
. Do you have that installed?
Well that would show which package owns something … if it existed.
If you wanted to search for something you might use something like
sudo pacman -Fyx 'bin/checkupdates'
PS.
For how to format etc see this
PPS.
It also means octopi package needs some changes. @Yochanan
