Object not found! in xampp

I use xampp and files among a particular folder cant be accessed. It says -

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.

I think the problem is with the permission. But whenever i change the permission of enclosed files in a folder it doesnt change. The permission for group and others are still same.
