Hi, new linux user here (from windows 10). After numerous amounts of formatting from the live usb, I found out that installing prop. nvidia drivers makes my system stuck at the three dots before the login screen. I’m currently writing this on my newly formatted, no-proprietary driver manjaro.
What I’ve tried?
- searching the forums & reddit for my problem, no solutions (that I understood)
- Installing prop. drivers from system settings/hardware configuration. Result: stuck at loading screen & had to format
- Installing prop. drivers using “$ sudo mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300”. Result: stuck at loading screen & had to format
- installing prop. drivers using “$ sudo mhwd --install pci video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime”. Result: stuck at loading screen & had to format
Can you please help me? I really want to use & daily drive manjaro but this driver issue is driving me crazy. I need to utilize my GPU on my master’s thesis computations & try some gaming on linux.
