I am trying to open nvidia settings but it immediately closes when I try opening it, when I try launching it from the terminal with sudo nvidia-settings it says: ERROR: NVIDIA driver is not loaded
ERROR: Unable to load info from any available system . Can someone please help me?
Picture of the nvidia related drivers that are installed(if it helps)
if you have used mhwd to install the driver - restart your system
I tried restarting it and I do not know if I used mhwd to install the driver.

Hi, I’m having the same issue since a few months. Previously nvidia-settings was working fine.
Searching a bit on the internet I found out that the issue is created by the NV-CONTROL extension not loading properly in Xorg.
This is part of my Xorg log ( /var/log/Xorg.0.log):
[ 6.576] (II) Initializing extension VNC
[ 6.576] (II) Initializing extension NV-GLX
[ 6.576] (II) Initializing extension NV-CONTROL
[ 6.576] (EE) Not enabling extension NV-CONTROL: maximum number of events or errors `exceeded.`
On internet somebody was suggesting to disable some useless Xorg extension like XFree86-DGA but I’m they’re starting even though I put this both in Xorg.conf and in Xorg.conf.d:
Section "Extensions"
Option "XFree86-DGA" "Disable"
Option "XFree86-VidModeExtension" "Disable"
EndSection
Here’s also the output of that inxi command on my pc:

Manjaro Nvidia driver configuration is in /etc/X11/mhwd.d/nvidia.conf
it is not in xorg.conf
.

Oh, thanks, didn’t know that. So what are you suggesting? To put that code in /etc/X11/mhwd.d/nvidia.conf
?
