Nvidia drivers and X11

I have a Ryzen laptop that had both Nvidia discrete GPU (RTX 3050) and AMD GPU.
I have recently updated the kernel to 5.15 and Nvidia drivers and like many others
I have the problem of not being able to use desktop manager. The system hangs with black screen.

I have tried a lot of things that have been suggested in various posts on this forum, but nothing works.
It seems that the problem is in X11 configuration. Even if I remove nvidia drivers (and install ‘video-linux’) drivers, the system still hangs. The only way I am able to use the desktop is if I use Wayland.

Question: is there a way to completely wipe out everything X11 related (including config files) and essentially start from scratch?

Here’s my system info:

Maybe, but what would that solve when…

…you do not have the NVIDIA drivers (video-hybrid-amd-nvidia-prime) installed properly.

See:

I don’t know, maybe nothing. But I am at the end of the rope as I tried everything I have seen on these forums. This is the third time I went through this exercise and X11 seems to be the culprit.
I can’t go through this every time I update the driver/kernel/CUDA. The first two times I did a clean
reinstall to solve it – but I really can’t do that every time.

I do have the drivers installed –

I love Manjaro, but this is a serious showstopper.

that’s the way i recommend, this will force a 100% working system with nvidia and from there you can start playing aroun. if there are questions, please ask
