Hello
I changed the nvidia driver to use the proprietary version and now I am getting vertical bars on some gnome apps (termainal, firefox, nautilus…).
Bug:
Here are the output of some commands:

Hi @jackos888 ,
I see absolutely NOTHING
wrong with the screenshot, leading me to believe it’s some kind of hardware thing. I’d suggest checking your cables and so on.
Hope this helps!

What kernel are you running? Or just post output of
inxi -Fza
P.S.
This is always the best starting point for help requests as you might not know what info migtht be important.
I am using a laptop and also I do not see this behavior with open source driver. It only happens with proprietary drivers.
Wollie:
inxi -Fza

Thanks
I’m going to throw in the towel then. The only thing I can think of is some kind of hardware issue since it looks absolutely perfect on my end…

Double check if changing the selected Gnome themes and extensions might help. I think there is a BIOS update available for your system.

i had several nvidia-issues due to the fact that the vaapi-control is now in the aur and i had to install it. this caused a lot of issues with nvidia.
you can install it with
pamac build libva-nvidia-driver
Thank you all for your help.
It seems it was a Gnome issue, I reset the settings using dconf reset /
and the vertical bars disappeared. Therefore, I loaded back my minimal config and added little by little my tweaks until I got my system back without the issue.

I think thats the first time I’ve seen mention of dconf reset /
on the forums, and it was OP doing a true self-solve. clap claps.
