Just installed Manjaro Gnome 40 and when plugging in USB and file manager does not see the cable from my Nikon D3500 camera. but it was able to read the photos by using an SD card reader. How can I get it to recognize via USB cable?

I guess you will need to install gvfs-gphoto2 for such cameras. It is a special protocol like MTP on Android Devices.
