Not able to connect to Wifi after uninstalling an unknown package

Short story is, I uninstalled a package I clearly shouldn't have, because my wifi daemon now does not start on a reboot, nor let me to connect to any wifi networks.

nmtui (my main wifi client) shows the current wifi networks and gives options to connect to them. Those stall out and never eventually connect, even when using an external wifi card. Ethernet works fine. If I start polybar, which should show me wifi status, it gives me the error Invalid network interface "wlp58s0" (which makes me think that it's a non-functional daemon).

The packages messed with were wicd, connman, manjaro-connman, and any related dependencies. Any help in diagnosing and fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there. Have you tried rolling your machine back to the previous state? I'm sorry that I cannot help you more than that. All the best with it - you will get there! Ruziel :slight_smile:

regarding that "unknown package": /var/log/pacman.log should hold a history where you can find out which packages you removed.

@ruziel Unfortunately, my backup process consists of copying /home to an external hard drive. :sweat_smile:
What do you do? I've been thinking about setting up timeshift when I get the chance.

@freggel.doe My last packages:

Hmm, seems like something I did (moderately) worked... I can connect to wifi. Looks like reinstalling one of net-tools, wireless_tools, ethtool, and iwd did the trick.

Also seems like my wifi card has been renamed from wlp58s0 to wlan1. Strange.
