Hello everyone.
I have trouble with my network interface on Intel I225-V chipset. Everything works nice, except no RX/TX stats are provided for it, so I can’t track network activity in any of system monitors.
Zero stats on enp6s0 :

Here’s the hardware:
eden@sunce:~ > inxi -N
Network: Device-1: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 driver: iwlwifi
Device-2: Intel Ethernet I225-V driver: igc
I tried with different versions of kernels, but the result is same:
5.4.72-1
5.8.16-2
5.9.1-1
If I switch to wlp5s0, stats are available. Any clues?
Thanks.

As you did not provide a full inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width
it’s hard to speculate, but if this is a home-built rig, did you install the UEFI drivers for that card ?
If not a home-built rig: did you upgrade your UEFI firmware yet?

Fabby,
Motherboard manufacturer released new firmware few days ago, I updated it but the problem remains. It’s home-built rig without any additional UEFI drivers installed.
Here’s the full spec:

I’m only on page 49 of the 2706 pages of the UEFI manual so I won’t be able to help you any further, except to point you to the Intel UEFI drivers already mentioned before and see if that helps.
(If the generic UEFI driver doesn’t expose statistics to the OS, you will have to install a specific one.)
If you want the full UEFI spec I’m reading as well, that’s here …

Thanks for the help, Fabby. I need to check the whole story with UEFI drivers first, which is not quite my area.

Just before you go to deep into the UEFI spec, which has probably nothing to do with your problem, read this
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208431
There is no solution. It looks more like a normal driver bug.
Interestingly, the ethtool
should show (some) statistics. Maybe you can try it.

Indeed, ethtool really shows interface stats:
eden@sunce:~ > ethtool -S enp6s0
NIC statistics:
rx_packets: 14558168
tx_packets: 14568229
rx_bytes: 12338911322
tx_bytes: 12914245311
rx_broadcast: 5480
tx_broadcast: 568
rx_multicast: 79984
tx_multicast: 3674
multicast: 79984
collisions: 0
...
Thanks.
