Hello,

Could it be that is the same issue as for this model since both appear to have the same ?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HP_Envy_x360_13z-ag000#Audio

Hello, Just looked at the bug report and installed hdajackretask on my laptop. Well I could not find those pins available in my laptop. What should i do?

did you turn on the setting Show unconnected pins?

you can check for the presence of audio codec pins 0x14 and 0x17 with this

cat /proc/asound/card*/codec\#*

Hello, I selected the Show unconnected pins but there were no 0x14 pin in the list.

What might be the problem?

It seems that HP have a different audio codec hidden behind the “Bang & Olufsen”
Codec: Conexant CX8200

This is not the same audio codec as the HP model in Archwiki.
The screenshot of hdajackretask posted to bugzilla report shows that HP Envy x360 13-ag0xxx has a Realtek ALC285 audio codec

And the other variations of HP x360 model mentioned in the bugzilla report

HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-w0XX - Realtek ALC295
HP ENVY Laptop 13-ad1xx - Realtek ALC295
HP Spectre x360 13t-ap000 (Whiskey Lake) - ALC285
HP Envy 13-ad059na - ALC295

I suggest you cold boot system and get ALSA information for non-working audio

sudo alsa-info.sh --upload

then reboot and get ALSA information for working audio with the same command
and compare the 2 sets of data to find any differences

I have attacted the alsa info links for audio working and not working both. Please find the link below.

Sound not Working.
http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=84fcc9aa16959cbe4699a883f9f939a69bd3e9d6

Sound Working

http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=9c4ac164be0284815b06db8474a527a5e8125118

I can see no major differences between both sets of data

but the data is showing something has been changed by hdajackretask

!!Modprobe options (Sound related)
!!--------------------------------

snd_intel_dspcfg: dsp_driver=1
snd_hda_intel: patch=hda-jack-retask.fw,hda-jack-retask.fw,hda-jack-retask.fw,hda-jack-retask.fw

I suggest you use hdajackrestask and click Remove boot override

and also remove the GRUB boot option snd-intel-dspcfg.dsp_driver=1
and update GRUB before rebooting

If audio is still not working, get ‘alsa-info.sh’ data for an unmodified system

I have made a fresh install of manjaro and collected alsa info logs. Please check the following cases.

1.First install with sound from internal speakers working properly.
http://alsa-project.org/db/?f=59fec173a02b41ae096b7fd9e6f7bc08937e0ce7

2.Cold boot with no sound

3.After restart and booting into manjaro and sound working.

4.No sound after resuming laptop from sleep.

There are only 2 significant differences from data in first install compared to other sets of data

data from 1:

!!ALSA Version
Driver version: k5.8.16-2-MANJARO
Library version: 1.2.3.2
Utilities version: 1.2.3
!!Loaded sound module options
	power_save : 0
	power_save_controller : N

data from 2-4:

!!ALSA Version
Driver version: k5.8.18-1-MANJARO
Library version: 1.2.4
Utilities version: 1.2.4
!!Loaded sound module options
	power_save : 1
	power_save_controller : Y

I suggest you try this

echo 'options snd_hda_intel power_save=0 power_save_controller=N' | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-power.conf

(Advanced Linux Sound Architecture/Troubleshooting - ArchWiki)

Okay will try and let you if this fixes the issue.

The above code fixed the sound not working after waking up from sleep. But booting the laptop from cold boot, the sound still doesn’t work. Have to restart for the sound to work.
