No songs in ncmpcpp

#1

I’ve installed mpd and ncmpcpp with no problem but every time I run ncmpcpp, no songs showed up. I’ve tried installing both using the arch wiki twice, using a script to install it, and have use a different guide to install everything. Each time everything installs fine but nothing shows up. The only reason I can thinks it’s not working is when I run mpd in the terminal I get

Jan 10 16:21 : exception: Failed to bind to ‘127.0.0.1:6600’
Jan 10 16:21 : exception: nested: Failed to bind socket: Address already in use

heres my mpd.config file

<
bind_to_address “127.0.0.1”
#bind_to_address “~/.mpd/socket”
music_directory “~/Music”
playlist_directory “~/.mpd/playlists”
db_file “~/.mpd/mpd.db”
log_file “~/.mpd/mpd.log”
pid_file “~/.mpd/mpd.pid”
state_file “~/.mpd/mpdstate”

}

audio_output {

Are you running “mpd” before running “ncmpcpp”?

Try this:
-run mpd
-run ncmpcpp
-then press ‘u’ in order to update the database

you gotta start the daemons for ncmpcpp to work :japanese_ogre:
