No signal on displays but screens detected - Nvidia 1650 - LenovoThinkpad X1 eXtreme gen2

I have a Lenovo X1 eXtreme Gen2 laptop
With both integrated Intel and NVidia 1650 graphic cards

I recently updated kernel from 5.4 to 5.8 kernel and nvidia drivers from 430 to 450
Since then I lost 2 on 3 external monitors
I used to have 1 on HDMI port and 2 others on USB-C ports to DVI on screen side
I followed the optimus manager par on this page : (archlinux wiki => Lenovo_ThinkPad_X1_Extreme_(Gen_2) )

I currently have the HDMI outp[ut working fine
But the 2 screens on USB-C remainsblack and the screen says : “Input nit supported”

I’d like to get those 2 screens back to normal.

What is stange is that the 3 external monitors are well detected by nvidia-settings.
Moreover the mouse seems to move through the screens even if they remain black.
I tried several configurations but I think I’m starting to make more mess than good things.

It’s like if the video signal on USB-C wasn’t correct , not a problem on the screen side etc…
Once while I was connecting/disconnecting USB-C and HDMI plugs both black screen were displaying a mirror image at different resolution.
As soon as I disconnect one plug both screen get back to black…but still properly detected in nvidia settings…
Screens and cables are OK as they work under Windows10 on exact same hardware (dual boot)
I’m going crazy …

I already tried to downgrade to 440 and 430 drivers, kernels 5.7 and 5.4
(it was working with 5.4 and 430… but it ain’t anymore)

Here are some useful commands and there outputs :

That’s all what come to my mind for now …
If anybody has an idea please share …

Hello,

Have you by any chance when into display and orientation settings and check their to see if there may be a setting that needs to change? Could it be that one is main and the other are a expansion of that?

Thanks a lot for this idea @yawanathan but unfortunately nothing linked to display orientation afaik.
Not sure about what you mean on expansion of a main screen, but problem is the same when in mirroring.

You gave me a hint so I tried something else and more basic than playing around with nvidia drivers, mhwd etc. what about changing resolution ?

Update
External screens 1 and 2 which are plugged on USB-C / DVI cables says “Input not detected”.
External Screen 3 which is plugged on HDMI to HDMI cable is fine.
No matter the number of external screens, the order I plugged them in, or if I’m in mirroring mode.

BUT if I use a lower resolution, let’s say 1280x720 instead of 1920x1080 on the two screens that were not working => screens work !!!

I don’t understand why it works with a lower resolution but may be this will drive someone else to an explanation and then to a resolution I hope.

This is not a resolution as it used to work with all 3 screens in full resolution 1920x1080 60Hz

UPDATE 2

My HDMI plugged screen allowed me to downgrade refresh rate to 50Hz, which I did.
Then I rolled-back 2 other screens to full resolution 1920x1080 and 60Hz rate and guess what : IT WORKS !

Well well well … I had to disconnect the HDMI screen to use it somewhere else.

Since then I lost my two other screens with the same symptoms : screens says “Input Not Suppported”.
I tried to change resolution or frequency on each screens separately or at the same time … it changes nothing.
(I did no update/upgrade since the first problem resolution, I can share inxi and other stuffs if required, but don’t think it 'd come to anything new)

If by chance anybody has an idea, please share.

Mirroring 2 screens is OK
Mirroring one screen and extending the other is OK
Extending 2 screens is KO

I really don’t understand what’s happening here.
