i,ve been a manjaro plasma user for quite some time, but frustratingly when i install several applications from snap store those apps doesnt’ come with minimize and maximize button.
But when i install xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
the problem goes away, my question is why doesn’t manjaro provide these essential programs installed by default?
'cause not everyone needs them - or even want’s them ?
much less to be there by default - snaps are … not well liked by many
Portals are the framework for securely accessing resources from outside an application sandbox.
SNAPs are not an essential part of the system, and by default no SNAP is included - so even if some extra package is optionally required for certain styling to work … that would be up to the person who decides to use SNAP.
Funny enough - I cant find any documentation related to your suggestion, though my memory seems to believe that something similar was true for Flatpaks.
But I do agree that xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
should probably be included with the Plasma ISO.
Just for different reasons.
Its because its needed for the cursor theme to be correctly displayed on GTK applications while using Wayland.
