So this is driving me nuts. Whenever I select a text it copies that text which gets pasted when ctrl+v. Any solution. I am quite new to the linux environment.
Check the configuration of the clipboard (called Klipper I think, in the system tray, right click it, configure) and reconfigure the parameter for that behavior (Ignore Selection would be what you want).
It can also be a setting in specific programs you use (Konsole for example I think has its own setting for that).
This is not a Linux thing, but it is from the desktop environment you have (KDE from the tag you have in your thread).
