I’ve strange and a bit annoying problem: I just bought a new monitor with a higher resolution and now my screen goes black for a second before the login but after boot-up. Bare with me, because it’s not the normal resolution change during the boot process. So here is what’s happening;
- The system boots just fine, Xstarts and the login prompt is shown. That’s working fine. But if i don’t log in right away manjaro hides the login-prompt after a few seconds and only shows the background. You have to press [ENTER] to get the login prompt back and than you can log in. And it is at this transition, where the screen goes black for a second twice. So it is:
Boot-up → Login prompt → Wait a few seconds → BLACK FLICKERING → Only BG-Image shown → Pres [ENTER] → BLACK FLICKERING → Login prompt
Admittedly it is not a serious problem, but it is annoying, it hurts my eyes and it seems a really strange place for such a problem since everywhere else the graphics work like they are supposed to without any unexpected resolution changes etc.
I’m running KDE Plasma
