Looks promising. Just to make sure I’ve got it right, not you - me, please provide the output of:
ls /etc/modprobe.d/
nothing inside this folder. no stdout
Then I think rebooting is safe.
I know nothing about the card or the driver this post is about, but I remember you mentioned another mode, that the adapter is dual mode, or something. So if it still doesn’t work as expected after restarting, try the other mode. (Whatever that means.)
restarted still not working
Looks like the device has 2 modes.
megavolt said this dont know what he means by that
may i know how it is supposed to work if we remove the driver?
You didn’t remove the driver, I think. Well, in theory anyway. What I targeted there was an extra driver. I don’t know how to explain it.
Why I did that was because on the page I linked to above, it is noted that the driver is included in kernel version 5.15
. So by resetting everything to default, that one should have been in use, but it doesn’t look as if it is. To make sure, please provide the output of:
sudo inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width

Well driver is not loaded anyway… no idea why it is not loaded in 5.15
However… try again the driver but with headers…
pamac install linux515-headers linux510-headers
Keep sure you have installed headers for every kernel version you have installed.
pamac build 8188eu-dkms-git
It should now compile the driver against every kernel.
Now check what modules (drivers) has been loaded:
lsmod
You said:
But was there any output? Normally you get the path printed where the driver is located. If not then the driver is already loaded.
If you installed the dkms then the module is called 8188eu
, so:
sudo modprobe -v 8188eu
I don’t know if it has anything to do with the dual mode or not, but this device:
seems to be the troubling one. And it doesn’t look like the drivers we’ve been trying to use the whole time. So we have to install it. First make sure the headers for your kernel(S) are installed:
pamac install $(pamac list --installed --quiet | grep "^linux" | grep "^linux[0-9]*[-rt]*$" | awk '{print $1"-headers"}' ORS=' ')
I think you’ve done this one before.
Then install the driver for it, from the AUR:
pamac build 8188fu-supremegamers-dkms-git
Followed by a reboot and seeing if it works.
I might be dumb here, but
isn’t the same as
And neither was I unable to find anywhere that states the driver is the same. So, my advice is to use the correct one, and not 8188eu
since that’s obviously not working.

how do i check if its working? when i remove my mobiles usb tethering in network it shows no available connection. i cannot see any wifi option in setting as well
You are missing libcrypto.so.1.1
which is in the openssl-1.1
package
after installing openssl-1.1
package still didnt work
It should not give the same error while building at least, maybe post the output of that build process again to see the diff/new errors that might have happened.
