Any solution?

pressing win+p and playing with those settings may help

Already tried that. It’s not working. Seems like the laptop monitor is only detected when it’s connected to external monitor. When you reboot the grub bootloader is loading and when it comes to graphical interface black screen goes on.

Strange. Maybe driver issue?

On the login screen it feels like I’m typing the password on laptop display and it accepts it but there is only black screen.

But when i the extend the monitors (Extend to right for ex.) my mouse is still locked only in external monitor.

go to system settings/compositor and uncheck enable on startup and uncheck allow apps to block…, click apply, reboot and see if it helped

Nope. It’s the same.

Whenever I reboot the laptop, in Display Configuration Laptop Screen, Enabled option is always unchecked.

When I check the option it’s still stays unchecked.

so enable the compositor back…
if you disconnect the external monitor, reboot is the laptop detected?

If I disconnect external monitor laptop monitor is only showing the grub bootloader, and when it reaches graphical interface it stops showing anything (goes to black screen).

I’ve ssh access as well.

This is the XORG log. Pay attention to eDP-1. It says eDP-1 connected but has no monitor section.

so the built int laptop monitor isnt working … did it worked in the live usb?
try different kernels, install the 5.10 and the 5.18, reboot and select the 5.10 in grub menu and test, do the same with the 5.18

No. It didn’t worked in the live usb as well.

I’ve tried with following versions of kernel 5.4, 5.10, 5.15, 5.18 & 5.19.

porvide logs:
journalctl -b0 -p4 --no-pager

Here is full log.

nothing there except:

plasmashell[565]: requesting unexisting screen 1

can you try under wayland, install this:
sudo pacman -S plasma-wayland-session
it will also install wayland dependencies, then reboot and select wayland in the login screen, then reboot again so that wayland is selected as default

I’ve installed plasma-wayland-session, whenever it enter wayland it keeps restarting to login graphical interface (sddm).

I’ve also reinstalled manjaro with basestrap and wayland as well but same result (keeps restarting back to sddm).

All this is displaying on external monitor and not laptop screen.

wayland is unstable on kde, but was hoping it would work with your system…
reinstalling was not needed since the issue happened also in the live usb…
are you dual booting with win? if yes is fastboot disabled?
you could try booting into live session of for example linux mint, and see if it happens there also

I’ve tried couple of different distros (mint is one of them) before opening the thread same thing happened there.

Fastboot is disabled. Laptop screen works just fine on Windows.

so its a linux and your hardware thing … maybe some setting in bios?
open this:
kate /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
and edit the modules section to look like this:
MODULES=(i915)
save the file, and run:
sudo mkinitcpio -P
reboot

Okay now small progress.

Laptop monitor is detected and in “Monitor Settings” if you expend to the left mouse goes to left however it’s still stays black. Both “Laptop Screen” and “DELL Monitor” are enabled.

Detected resolutions are not correct for the laptop btw.

well that was it haha …
try disabling the compositor again at startup, then reboot
