Trying to install Manjaro on a Thomson laptop

Hi,

I have problems when i try to install Manjaro on the laptop of my girlfriend.

First problem : with any DE screen result inverted at start up.I have to rotate it to the right position.

Then even if the screen is in normal position the settings reminds inverted.

Normally the settings are located on the left side so even if the screen is normal i have to go on the left top side to find the setting with the mouse.Of course i don’t see anything in this left side because the settings are usaually on the right in normal location.It’s like the screen is normal but the settings reminds inverted… so weird.I never saw that before.

Second problem : there is no sound.The driver in use is the essx8336.

I tried to change the iso but this laptop gives me a lot of problems…

Any idéa ?

Additionally

If your language isn’t English, please prepend any and all terminal commands with LC_ALL=C. For example:

LC_ALL=C bluetoothctl

This will just cause the terminal output to be in English, making it easier to understand and debug.

I tried different things and installations but i can’t fix this weird problem.Diagonal inverted screen reminds.I don’t really know how to explain this problem so i took pictures from the live usb of Manjaro.

As you can see the screen seem to be normal but look at the upper left hand corner.The mouse is there and on the right side you can see the mouse hover on the day and date.Like i said before : the screen is normal but the settings reminds inverted…

Don’t blame me i can’t copy and paste the shell easily because of this problem.

When i go to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d i have only the keyboard.conf

Try the following:

Whoops, again!

To invert the screen to the left, run:

xrandr -o left

If it doesn’t work and/or you wish to undo it, run:

xrandr -o right

To rotate upside down:

xrandr -o inverted

To go back to normal:

xrandr -o normal

I have NO cooking clue if it’ll work, just throwing ideas around.

I already tried xrandr -o normal without sucess but i will try the inverted setting and read the link you showed me.

I installed Linux distribs several times for my friends i really don’t know what happen with this laptop.

Maybe a distro defaulting to Wayland may somehow magically resolve the issue?
Try Gnome or Sway edition.
(Does Manjaro Gnome default to Wayland?)
