Microphone not reading input

Hi, hope everyone is doing good.

I am a manjaro user for a long time and lately i need to use a microphone for work, so i plug in the microphone, it does get detected by the system (i saw it in the pulseAudio Volume) however when i test the microphone by recording my audio, no audio get’s recorded (the audio does get recorded when i record without any mic plugged in)

I ran the following command (whilst the mic is plugged in):

pactl list cards; pacmd dump | grep -E 'source|profile'

and got the following output:

How? What?

Looks to me that you have 2 microphones:

There you have to set one to default. So the “Port”.

Another thing: What kind of jack connection is it? Headset or microphone symbol?

This ? grafik

If a headset, then a mic will not work on that port.
