Microphone is always set on the Built-in Audio Analog Stereo and it won't recognize the external mic

When I connect my external microphone, it only changes the output device from speakers to headphones, and it has no effects on the microphone option; I think it should bring up another option for selecting the input source for my connected external microphone, but it won’t.

I have 5.10.34-1-MANJARO with KDE desktop

What connection does your external microphone use? 3.5mm or USB?

It is 3.5mm and I am using a Laptop with a single 3.5mm combined headphone jack
when I use my microphone in another OS (e.g. windows or ubuntu) it totally works fine.

OK, so it should be connected to the internal sound card. Please take a screenshot of System Settings->Audio->Configure…, just to make sure that the profile you choose does allow input as well as output.

I appreciate that you answer my question, but my problem is not this one; I have already checked this part of the settings, but the problem is manjaro recognizes my external microphone as a headphone in output source, not an input!
So every time I plug my microphone into my computer, it will not add another input option, and I have already allowed both input and output.

but as you request, here is the screenshot of my settings:

as you can see in this picture, there are no other input sources as I connect my external microphone
and on the other port it shows me this :

You missed one level. Press that Configure... button on the bottom right. What I need to see is whether the profile selected is correct or not. Depending on your microphone type, it can be both output and input as well. Both of my Samson Q2U and C01U Pro has output channel for 0 latency monitoring. However, this can be disabled or even the other way around, only the monitoring port works while the input functionality is disabled. It depends on the profile selected.

Here you are :

I actually found the solution : https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Advanced_Linux_Sound_Architecture#Correctly_detect_microphone_plugged_in_a_4-pin_3.5mm_(TRRS)_jack
