Manjaro XFCE - Replace GTK3-Classic with GTK3 safely

#1

How do I replace GTK3-Classic (which is what Manjaro XFCE ships with) with GTK3 vanilla? I would prefer the original version as I quite like CSD, but when I tried to replace GTK3-Classic and restarted LightDM would not start. How do I replace it with out breaking my install?

Really? I didnt realize…
Oh yeah … it is :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
Anyways…
you should be able to just
sudo pacman -Syu gtk3

Did you update and such before last time? Did you see any lightdm output?
I guess if you want to be safe…
sudo pacman-mirrors -f && sudo pacman -Syyu
Report any errors … if ‘x is newer than…’ run sudo pacman -Syuu … if no issues reboot.
Then
sudo pacman -Syu gtk3
And post us the output.

:: gtk3 and gtk3-classic are in conflict (gtk3-print-backends). Remove gtk3-classic? [y/N] y
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: removing gtk3-classic breaks dependency ‘gtk3-classic>=3.24.2+7+g43aeb52b73’ required by lib32-gtk3-classic

Well ok we could remove the 32 first … or probably just describe its replacement;
sudo pacman -S gtk3 lib32-gtk3

Huh, that way worked but the other way i tried didn’t. Thanks
