Allow me to introduce Manjaro-Optimus Indicator v3.0. It is a stand alone program in Python that provides a GUI for @dglt's Optimus-Switch program. I have tested it on and it will work with the following Desktop-Environments:
- LXQT (support is in beta)
It has been confirmed to work with the following tiling window manager: (thanks to @dglt for testing it!)
Because I have never used a tiling window manager, I have not tested it on Bspwn or i3.
NOTE: This program requires a re-install when updating Python from 3.7x to 3.8
Here is a screenshot of version 3.0.
New for version 3.0.
This release includes some streamlining of the python code. It will also allow the proper identification of the Intel iGPU for those using the older driver.
If your Intel card is properly detected, you do not need to update.
Existing users will need to re-install to be able to use the new options.
Delete the folder
Follow the readme to install.
If you are using the new Intel driver, and do not want to re-install.
Open the terminal, and type:
$ sudo sed -i -e 's,intel open source technology center,intel,g' /lib/python3.8/site-packages/manjaroptimusindicator/indicator.py
Thanks to @freggel.doe for the one-line instructions. It is greatly appreciated!
