#250

Looking at the output of pacman -Qm, it seems that you have many lib32 packages that are becoming foreign… Have you set up Arch’s [multilib] repo properly in your pacman.conf?

#251

i had it there but thought maybe i should disable it, that it might not be supported given a comment i saw abobe (?) about multilib support coming eventually… can i go ahead and enable it then?

#252

Until artix provides repo for multilib, you can enable the arch’s repo for a while. Otherwise, some packages that requires multilib will not work in the next batch of updates…I think

#253

so what do you have listed for multilib? i tried to enable it and got 404 errors

Enable the multilib for the arch’s repos (mirrorlist-arch), not the artix ones…

Assumed that you followed the guide :

[multilib]
Include   = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-arch

Not much…

#256

Hi @artoo

Congrats on consolidating the efforts of many devs into a single project for providing a truly systemd-free [core]-replacement for Arch/Manjaro.

Personally I don’t think this nor the dropping of i686 arch is a bad thing for Manjaro. I’ve always been in favour of the Manjaro repos being as lean as possible and the project not pushing the scope too far beyond it’s original intent.

For any project, when hours spent on maintenance are reduced, it means those hours can be spent on innovation and ensuring quality.

#257

If you are not using manjaro repos, then you are safe to remove the keyring. But I don’t , cause I’m still using it as there are many some good stuff in manjaro repo  (*Note : Don’t try this at home)

#258

ok, now you have to spill… you’re using mhwd-chroot-shell i bet… what else? pamac… what else?

#259

@artoo

The point above about manjaro-keyring: can you include it in your [system] repo too so Manjaro repos can more easily be used with Artix?

EDIT: Is it safe to enable Arch or Manjaro [core] repo behind Artix’s repos? Just pondering if using Phil’s kernels and mhwd is possible…

#260

Oh god, I sholdn’t have said that :joy:

And no, no manjaro related tools in here, as I have uninstalled them all. But I managed to grab some goodies like :

#261

the manjaro kernels work? even with the different grub?

#262

Seems like it…

~ >>> uname -r
4.12.4-2-MANJARO
~ >>> pacman -Ss grub
system/grub 2.02-4 [installed]
    GNU GRand Unified Bootloader (2)

#263

so you have the core repo enabled then?

#264

Yes

#265

yes you do…

@thefallenrat i don’t suppose you have an amd graphics card running catalyst do you?

#266

Sadly, I don’t…

@LizziAS But if I do, I would like to try using catalyst …

#267

As far as my experience. I think it is safe enough enabling manjaro/arch core repo behind artix repo, as long as you be more careful when it comes to updating. Or else, you accidentally update some of the core packages that are not coming from artix repo

But, I’m still against of everyone to try enabling core repo unless they have enough experience doing it…

As for mhwd, I have just tried to reinstall mhwd. And I think it is still usable (Note that I didn’t try to download the kernel as I’m trying to save my bandwidth… Maybe next time)

~ >>> sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux49

now that’s interesting… i reinstalled the linux412 kernel and headers (manjarosettings-manager never installs the headers for some reason) and it booted but i must also say that even with all the majaro stuff removed my grub still showed manjaro on the boot menu… not Artix

#269

what’s those about?
