Manjaro linux, thank you!

Well it hasn’t all been plain sailing. Eg 3 years ago there was a problem if you were an Xfce user as I was then. And the introduction of .pacnew files caused me some confusion at first. And the odd AUR package consistently breaks with an update, one of them permanently now, it would seem, although I’ve replaced it using Flatpak (reluctantly), where it works fine. Other than that things have been pretty stable. I’ve always liked the look and feel of Manjaro, despite all of the disparaging criticisms I’ve seen about it on Youtube, such as this one.

However if I’ve got it right, one of the chief members of Manjaro’s development team has quit, and recently there have been rumblings in here and elsewhere whether Manjaro has a future, especially as there was a big delay to updates in January when the rumours were spreading. I have an alternative distro to ‘flee to’, should things go seriously awry with Manjaro, but I’ll cross that bridge if it comes to it.
