and a whole lot more

Nope… created a thread some time ago where I asked what to do if it freezes. Thought I solved it by downgrading the Kernel to 510 (because I read somewhere that it could solve that) but it didn’t do anything really… Still it freezes from just starting a game (at random times) and it always freezes after I’ve been in a game for too long.
It starts of slow which gives me time to turn it of and restart the game but sometimes it just straight up dies and making me shutting down my whole computer with the “turn off” button.

Heres my “dmesg | less”

I’ll try Kernel 510-rt but my guess is that it ain’t so simple as to just downgrading the kernel…

I’m grateful for all the help I can get, thanks!

Hehe. Oofed real big here but well well it’s all user error  installed the 510-rt kernel and managed to frick up my whole system. Tried to reinstall it using the regular Manjaro-chroot method and or the something -i linux 512 command but nothing worked.

Pretty late here so I just got tired and reinstalled the whole thing :joy:. Oh well I probably shouldn’t get my hopes up on being able to run Death Stranding with a, probably, ten year old PC with hell made Nvidia cards. Still if there might be a fix for these random freezes in the regular Terminal or opening a folder then please, share it ^^

I’ve merged your duplicate topics. Please also edit your previous post if the option is available instead of adding another reply right after the last one.

:crossed_fingers:

If that doesn’t work, we still have:

  • pci=nommconf
  • pci=noaer

to check out.

Thank you ^^ just made a 10GB~ swapfile. I’ll report back if it seems to have gotten better ^^

Yes thank you so much again ^^ It seems to have solved the problem with the Swap! So far I’ve been able to use my computer and play over an hour without any weird freezes. Usually when I played some heavy game, like Death Stranding for example, I’d have to restart the game or my whole computer after about five minutes into the game.

Thanks again!
