Manjaro is slow

Tried dual booting Manjaro KDE with Windows 10, with Manjaro KDE being on second drive. I often get endless black screens with /dev/sda2 clean, rebooting sometimes fix the endless black screen, but the booting times are still very long compared to Windows. Everything is slow and unresponsive: text boxes, categories in application launcher, settings. Some of those features become faster and snappier the more i use them, but after some time, they become unresponsive again.
Also tried dual booting XFCE, it was snappier, but still felt slow.

dont know much about computers, i guess this was not a good idea?

Wecome to the forum!

Manjaro is slow

No, it’s not. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

No idea. You’ve only provided anecdotal evidence which doesn’t help us help you.

Of course you should not be experiencing the problems you’ve had, so something isn’t quite right.

Please see:

guess ill have to try reinstalling manjaro on ssd now!

installed manjaro on ssd, now it works like a charm, thanks!

While any OS will be faster on an SSD, I think the actual solution was you doing a clean install.

This time, learn from your mistakes and stop breaking things.
