Manjaro GNOME edition will not boot - Read only file system

When I boot from a previously successfully manjaro gnome latest installation, I get two major errors on boot:

[FAILED] Failed to start pkgfile database update.
[FAILED] Failed to start GNOME Display Manager.

I’ve tried all the different kernels I have installed 5.4, 5.9, 5.10 and I’m using NVidia proprietary drivers.

I’m not using pkgfile for anything myself, but it is only a dependency of manjaro-zsh-config (as confirmed by pactree -r pkgfile)

I can run inxi -Fazy, but when I try and pipe it to a file to copy into here,

zsh: read-only file system: inxi.txt

When I try and run startx:

xauth: error in locking authority file /home/user/.Xauthority
xauth: error in locking authority file /home/user/.Xauthority
xauth: error in locking authority file /home/user/.Xauthority
