Manjaro fails to boot and forces me into uefi

Hello there,
I have once again come to ask for some help as a relative manjaro newbie (getting better) I am having a boot issue where suddenly after I launched Minecraft through the lunar client it became suddenly very low fps and the curser was delayed severely. I hard restarted as none of my clicks worked. When I rebooted nothing loaded until 5 minutes later an American Megalegends thing (I can’t remember the name) said that I need to go into UEFI. I tried just loading nothing happened so I then decided to boot into my windows partition on my hard drive it works and so I came here after looking at some solutions but none worked because I had no terminal available. So here I am any info or things, pictures, etc any needs I will happily provide.

Thanks again,
Vexed

Are you even able to see the Grub boot menu entries?

How are you booting into your Windows system? By selecting “Windows” in the Grub menu, or bypassing Grub entirely and using your BIOS’s built-in boot override?

Here are a few guides to help you providing us with information.

I don’t have a grub menu to load from because I was going to set it up today so I bypassed it and used the UEFI bios directly.

I unfortunately couldn’t access the terminal or anything but somehow I accidentally left my pc running while I went out and the issue resolved itself with an error about invalid sector size after a long boot time. I will send the logs from my pc now.

Here are the kernel ring buffer logs and if you need any others please let me know.
Thanks!

Please format the output as described in the guide linked above.

Looks like one of your drives has a hard time starting, if not outright failing…
Is that an external drive? Can you try booting without it plugged?

Last night I turned off power to my external hard drive because it happens to bug me with a flashing light during the night. This morning when I booted It booted perfectly earlier this morning with no problems. The external hard drive is pretty old. I use it in place of a USB stick to boot new os and such.

Then this pretty much confirms the issue comes from the external drive, that fails to start in a timely manner.
Have you configured your system to mount that drive on boot when present?

cat /etc/fstab

Here is the output of the file I had to stop from booting on startup because of a previous issue. /dev/sdb is my external hard drive.

# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
UUID=1882-7248                                          /boot/efi                                  vfat    umask=0077          0 2
/dev/mapper/luks-17195cdd-c5d7-4fef-a9c5-bfc24fa07c02 / ext4 noatime 0 1
/swapfile swap swap noatime 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs noatime,mode=1777 0 0
#/dev/sdb /home/username/Desktop/Mount\040Point\040Usb udf users 0 0

The line is commented, so it is not used. Your system may try to mount it nonetheless if it spots it when booting.
Also, were it not commented, it wouldn’t work correctly: the line points the drive instead of its partition.

It might be worth setting a proper mount configuration, and using the noauto option so that it doesn’t try to mount it on boot.

I did this recently but I came upon an error after running mount -a while in Sudo -i mode I just wanted to ask if this is okay and if anything is wrong. It told me this.

mount -a
mount: /etc/fstab: parse error at line 13 -- ignored
mount: /etc/fstab: parse error at line 14 -- ignored
mount: /etc/fstab: parse error at line 16 -- ignored
mount: /HardDriveMount: special device 2725-614A does not exist.
dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call.
mount: (hint) your fstab has been modified, but systemd still uses
the old version; use 'systemctl daemon-reload' to reload.
mount: defaults, noatime: mount point does not exist.
dmesg(1) may have more information after failed mount system call.

Thanks for the help.

You don’t need sudo -i for testing mount -a.

Those messages already hint at what is wrong.
