Manjaro does not boot after installing a new Kernel-dropped Into emergency shell, for people who think they have a big problem but are actually just noobs

Hello,

I have Manjaro KDE Plasma on my Dell XPS. Its 2 days since it happened, i did the new updates like usual and my Laptop then asked me to install a new Kernel, because something doesnt work with an update. I opened the Manjaro Settings and tried to install a newer Kernel, after it completed, I was told to reboot to finish the update. I did that, and received a terminal screen with this message:

I searched for a bit online, and in all related threads people seem to be able to run commands. I failed, its not working at all, i really dont understand the problem. I mounted my partitions from a live OS but it did nothing. The commands didn’t work. I’m sorry I’m very desperate, also because I normally am probably lucky and although i have no idea, I get things working somehow. I would really appreciate any help.

So, my questions are these:

What is the problem, and how can I avoid this in future?
How can I fix this issue for now? (I really don’t want to format and reinstall)

Is all my data gone? If not, how can I recover those?

I’m pretty new to Linux, so I’ll much appreciate if you answer in a easy to understand way.

Thank you!

this is the issue:

it cant find one of your partitions…
do you have a manjaro usb? if so boot into, chroot:
sudo manjaro-chroot -a
then post formatted output from these commands:
cat /etc/fstab
blkid

And please use preformatted text, my eyes hurt. (isn’t there some guide to read or something when you register on the forum?)

You should be able to.

it looks good … can you access your manjaro partition?

What do you mean by “access”

from live usb use dolphin or whatever file manager and open for example your home folder where you have your files…

no i cant do that

is there some error/warning? is it even detected?

When i open dolphin or my folders from live usb?
It’s just empty

i mean on the left side in dolphin under devices, if you click on your manjaro installation, can you access that, not live usbs folders…

im rly sry for giving you a hard time
An error occurred while accessing ‘Home’, the system responded: The requested operation has failed: Error mounting /dev/sda1 at /run/media/manjaro/MANJARO_KDE_2115: /dev/sda1 already mounted or mount point busy
thats what i get

its ok… but i dont know whats with it… post output from:
