Manjaro-Cinnamon 18.0 is now ready for

full edition:
direct | sig | sha1 | sha256 | torrent
minimal-edition:
direct | sig | sha1 | sha256 | torrent

As you can see above both a minimal and a full edition are available again.
Kernel, as with all Manjaro 18.0 editions is linux419, current version of Cinnamon desktop is 4.0.1.
It uses Adapta-Maia gtk-themes and Papirus-Maia icons. Vertex-Maia is additionally included in the full edition aswell as has been requested Linuxmint’s native gtk- and Cinnamon themes (not the icons, since this would have been quite a big package most people will not want … However, of course if you like them you can install them from the AUR).

differences between minimal and full edition:

Wow thanks for it :heavy_heart_exclamation:

#3

Why are jre8-openjdk and jre8-openjdk-headless installed in the full version?

#4

NIce i like it cinnamon desktop

#5

Would love that colour scheme by default in the Plasma spin … looks very sharp.

By full version are you referring to Oracle java SDK and runtime?

Not packaged by Arch, but available in AUR.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Java#Other_implementations

#6

Yes, that is it.
Why is it installed in Cinnamon?

#7

Why yaourt ?

#8

A JRE is needed for running any Java-based software (e.g. Minecraft). It also enables various extra features within LibreOffice.

Whether these reasons are why it’s included… :man_shrugging:

This is a better question. If you want a separate helper yay is a better option now, but given pamac has AUR support I’m not sure why you’d include another helper by default. (Quite apart from that I’d argue against enabling the AUR by default anyway.)

#9

Ok I may sound like a newbie here but I am thrown off on something… If Current Cinnamon DE is 4.0.1, then why does my Cinnamon DE say it is 4.0.3 and I installed Manjaro from last Cinnamon ISO???

#10

Latest tagged release is 4.0.3:

If you upgrade your system you get the latest versions. That’s the whole point of a rolling-release distro.

#11

Ok I was just mentioning from the Origional post was all

#12

4.0.1 was probably the last release when the installer image was prepared and the OP was written.

That’s the thing with time - things get old.

#13

Fair question … but the answer is very simple: The ISO was released November 29 and Cinnamon 4.0.3 arrived on stable branch with today’s update:wink:

#14

It’s gorgeous!

This is brilliant, I moved my main system from mint to manjaro with this release as I’m stepping up in the FOSS world. LoL Actually they are both good and offer a different spin on life. The lightweight of manjaro and well written community documentation has made this transition smooth. For my use AUR was necessary for some applications I required. But overall native has what I need. The interface is smooth and the layout very intuitive. I really enjoy this release, thank you for producing it.
