Manjaro arm on Tv box?

Happy realization. :joy:

Linux-vim-5.10.5 coming soon to unstable with little bit of panfrost fix which reduces the panfrost glitches but it is still present.
Also the green line fix on hdmi output.

If we’re getting good score on es then we can try qt with es

Let’s see if it helps.

I just saw a post by Bill Sanders at the Collabora website reporting a score of 758 (!) running glmark2-es2-wayland on a VIM 3 using Wayfire (see comment #28):

@JFL it seems that the wait for better Panfrost support for G52 is already over. Congrats to Alyssa and coworkers for their great work!

The speed of Panfrost evolution its astonish. Great work.
Its nice to see how G52 is working now.
They just enabled OpenGL 3.0 support for bifrost

Looking forward to it. Thanks.

Yeah, just install mesa-20.3.3-1 the latest mesa will test it out.

Edit: with linux 5.10.5-3 and mesa-20.3.3-1, score 261.

When you install mesa-git you currently get mesa version 21.0.0 (GLES 2.0) and with mesa-arm-git (from archlinuxdroid.tk) version 21.1.0 (GLES 3.0).

Just installed linux-vim 5.10-5-1 from “Unstable Branch” and with mesa-20.3.3-1 the glmark2-es2 with XFCE Compositor “Disabled” is basically the same 261.

XFCE Compositor “Enabled” glmark2-es2 is 56. Such a huge difference.

Edit:
With mesa-20.3.3-1 Youtube video on Firefox with “layers.acceleration.force-enabled = true” and “gfx.webrender.all = true” works without freezing.

XFCE Compositor “Enable” negatively effect the video performance tremendously in Firefox. High dropped frames. {Edit2: Only when “layers.acceleration.force-enabled = true” or “gfx.webrender.all = true”.

Yes, with mesa-20.3.3-1 (supposedly stable version), Max GLES 2.0 only as per 'glxinfo".

Hi everyone, i am a new linux user and english is not my language. I have Beelink GTking ver.B922 . I need gtb file becous i dont have a network with dtb files for gtking pro, ugoos am6 , odroid N2 . They all boot on official 20.12 xfce ver. with sound but dont have a network, eth0 persyst , but not ping to rooter. Dont have wifi too. Thanks in advans.

Is the network service started?

Try sudo systemctl enable network --now in terminal.

@TheMojoMan i’ll try tomorrow, i broke my installation on android. Thanks.

Using “Xpresent” as xfce compositor does improve the glmark2-es2 to 378. Thinks are looking good for Panfrost on G52 devices.

But overall xfce with Panfrost as of now, the experience is not that positive in the sense that there is a fair bit of visual glitches at times and also depending on what app is being used.

It looks like DE with Wayland support seems to work better with Panfrost in term of visual glitches, is this a fair statement? And according to a benchmark, Wayfire is taking the lead.

I wonder is there a Wayfire Manjaro image that are pre-built for download for VIM3?

Currently no but users can install the wayfire pkgs and switch to it for testing.

Waryfire is designed for touch screen device but can be used as normal desktop other issue with using Wayland is not all apps are supported yet, example obs and only few screenshots apps work on it like flameshot and wf-recorder.

Hopefully with drm updates in kernel 5.11 it should look better on x11 soon.

Thanks. By the way, Is Panfrost working well with KDE Plasma-Wayland yet?

Did get time to test it.

Will be working in ugoos images soon.

Great for Ugoos. Will there be one also specific to Beelink devices?

Yes just have to fix the usb drive issue.
