Manjaro-architect z-release 0.9.20

#22

There is no new iso. Only the installer got updated, and the iso automatically downloads the newest version. If you need a newer iso, you can use any manjaro iso, manjaro-architect is included with all editions.

#23

I will look into the font issue when I have time.

#24

Thank you for your time. I hope this issue also got fixed as well when i fire up my 18.0 architect iso any time im feeling adventurous again soon.

#25

I installed from a legacy boot install to a USB thumb drive and had to wait 5-10 minutes for grub to install (was doing other things). No activity at all in htop during this period.

#26

The fix is pushed to the git, but the package is not yet updated.

#27

I uploaded the version with fixed legacy-boot as manjaro-architect-dev to the unstable and testing repos. If someone can test it and confirm that it works, I can upload the fixes to the regular package.

#28

I can test later, but have to go out shortly.

#29

I triedto test it in virtualbox, but it works poorly with kde. So I just uploaded 0.9.21 to unstable, let’s see what happens

#30

Ooops - completely forgot. Testing now - I have the dev version is that correct?

#31

Duplication of mirrors, a problem @cscs spotted earlier in the week:

Moson.eu @fhdk

#32

I still cannot reproduce it (the probing of different protocols for the same mirror is normal and expected) (my sample below is from unstable - but has no bearing, just use whatever branch you are using)

#33

@fhdk - this was from a fresh architect install.

I can list the info, but is it relevant? Does architect use my mirrors? Dunno :smiley:

As I suggested in another thread you have your moson.eu doubled (and more :laughing: ) in your custom-mirrors.json - please reset as described - and yes architect uses the pacman-mirrors settings on the host computer.

Relevant? Absolutely - because your headache is in that file as I can count the moson.eu entry 16 times

   {
       "country": "Germany",
       "protocols": [
           "https",
           "http"
       ],
       "url": "https://manjaro.moson.eu/"
   },
   {
       "country": "Germany",
       "protocols": [
           "https",
           "http"
       ],
       "url": "https://manjaro.moson.eu/"
   },

On a far fetched idea - I tried to run the --interactive on a custom-mirror pool.

That is first I did a reset of the entire pool

sudo pacman-mirrors -call -mrandom

Then I did a country selection and selected everything on the list

sudo pacman-mirrors -c Germany,United_Kingdom -i

Then I did a new --interactive but without the country selection

sudo pacman-mirrors -i

And to my surprise - I have a list with doubled entries and it also appears to be only mirrors which offers several protocols.

Why some would do that I cannot figure out but I can reconstruct the issue.

Now that I know how to do it - I might be able to fix it.

Have a lot of packages been downgraded in unstable?
#35

:smiley: :smiley: Have reset as instructed.

Anyway back on topic - install went fine, grub installed, with no noticeable time problems. (from KDE, to KDE on usb).

#36

Great success! So, it is uploaded as 0.9.21 in unstable, I’ll push it to other branches then. Then I can move on to the next projects.

#37

@Chrysostomus so what was the problem?

#38

Grub-install had a massive delay inside chroot. Making /run/lvm available inside the chroot fixed it.
