LUKS full encryption bypassed by just pressing ESC?

Hello,
I am able to bypass full disk encryption with LUKS by simply pressing ESC while entering the passphrase at boot time. After pressing ESC the grub menu appears and I can boot from a normal entry and just run the system with all files available. This is not exactly what I mean by complete disk encryption. Encryption was enabled via checkbox when installing via the installer. No manual changes were made.

I feel like that shouldn’t be possible unless you left the passphrase box empty when setting up the encryption… but then why would that even be a valid option?

Also welcome to the forums
