Lost settings (mouse, standard keyboard shortcuts) after reboot

Edit: Ok so not technically ‘solved’ but since this was a fairly new install and I had my data on a separate partition and I needed a functioning rig now I just started from scratch. I’ll get the hang of this thing yet.

Hi community! First ‘real’ post here so I’m going to try and get it right.

This morning after I logged in after reboot I discovered that several shortcuts and settings were not functioning as they should. I keep discovering more as I sit here and work with the system but some examples are as follows:

The super key no longer pulls up the menu
Mouse settings (natural scroll and tap-to-click) are not working.
ctrl-alt-t no longer opens terminal

All of the application shortcuts seem to be fine - it’s just the system keyboard shortcuts that I’ve lost.

I’ve tried Syyu update, and I’ve checked logs, but I’m unsure of exactly where to start. Any pointers here would be greatly appreciated.

Post administratively closed as the user re-installed their system and the problem went away all by its own.

As you seem to be new to Linux and are in need of a  after reinstalling, please read this:
