If i recall it correct there was a countdown of secs at the bottom of the grub boot menue?!

Change this to countdown or menu

I tried both in vain:

Change this to **countdown** or **menu**

And i saw stable branch got a new grub on 15.10.23. So i restored a backintime backup from 25.10.23 in hope that the issue will be fixed … no success:

So from now on i have to keep in mind: manjaro will not boot automatic! I have a notebook and i use my old PC Display as primary screen. Notebook screen i s turned off.

Perhaps next grub update will fix this issue, if its related to grub?!!

Thanks for your advice!

… and i now think: stop messing around with multiple linux HD installes plus Win 10 Home.

This grub version 2.12rc1.r49.ge58b870ff-1 seems to be not a allready stable grub version?

That’s a strange method of using grub-install, and not one I’m familiar with. What’s the output of ls /boot ?

Here it is:

[john1@manjaro ~]$ ls /boot
efi grub initramfs-5.15-x86_64.img initramfs-6.1-x86_64.img linux515-x86_64.kver memtest86+ vmlinuz-5.15-x86_64
grml initramfs-5.15-x86_64-fallback.img initramfs-6.1-x86_64-fallback.img intel-ucode.img linux61-x86_64.kver syslinux vmlinuz-6.1-x86_64

A) I used this somehow strange script to overwrite the grub configs of Mint, Fedora … and to see if i can manage to write a bash script. Bash scripting keeps to be a mystery for me :frowning:

B) Would be nice to know if someone else on manjaro stable branch has the same issue with grub version 2.12rc1.r49.ge58b870ff-1
I guess it is not a stable version of grub?!!

In a virtualBox i have a archlinux running:

Just updated the system and …

[john1@archlinux ~]$ grub-install --version
grub-install (GRUB) 2:2.12rc1-5

This version runs as aspected!

Conclusion? As usual: i don’t know !

This command is not recommendable, use what is written in Manjaro wiki.
