Hi all
after the recent update I had a login loop, and I tried to disable gnome extensions as it is explained here: Gnome login loop
The problem persisted even after disabling all extensions with
gsettings set org.gnome.shell disable-user-extensions true
, after deleting everything in ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions and /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions.
Timeshift would have helped probably, also an image of sda1 with i.e. clonezilla. But I had neither nor, and at the next upgrade I would have had the same problem. So I took another look at the
journalctl /usr/bin/gnome-shell
which told me something like
Failed to install extension updates for extension-list@tu.berry
So finally the idea came to me that I should delete
~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extension-updates/extension-list@tu.berry
and that was it, login loop was gone after that. Wanted to share for others with the same problem. Cheers
