I hope to find help here. A search on the forum gave similar problems but no solution yet.
Since updating my laptop i cannot login.
Login leads to the same loginscreen.
I can login using ctrl-alt-f2. But i am stuck from there on.
The laptop is my only computer. I reach out to forum using mobile.
I run a Dell Latitude E5420
X86-64 bit. Manjarolinux release 20.2 codenaam Nibia.
Version 5.4.74-1-manjaro PREEMPT.
Deepin.
Any help in noob language is appreciated.

Let me make clear that i can update from tty.
Anyone a clue how to get deepin back up and running?

Since when you did not update your system?
Maybe running this from TTY will help:
sudo pacman -R manjaro-deepin-settings
sudo pacman -Syyu deepin-desktop-schemas deepin-kwin

Should update more frequent.
Installed xfce as a way to acces files.

Is frequent updating the way to prevent this?
Every time there is an update, read the announcement. Most of the time we catch the issues in unstable and testing branches and the announcement provides also fixes for known issues, so you can safely update the system.

it happened to me too and again (in june 2020).
I tried
sudo pacman -R manjaro-deepin-settings
sudo pacman -Syyu deepin-desktop-schemas deepin-kwin
and
sudo pacman -R manjaro-deepin-settings
sudo pacman -Syyu deepin-desktop-schemas
but always the same loginscreen and no login possible.
Is there anything else I could try?
