Login freezes when opening laptop lid after waking from sleep mode

I have a Thinkpad T14 AMD (integrated Radeon graphics) running KDE. After the computer has been put to sleep when the lid has been closed for a while and I open it, the screen is very dim and it freezes and will not allow me to type my password in. There is nothing on my secondary display either and only shows black. This only happens when the lid has been closed. If system goes to sleep with the lid open, it wakes up fine and I can log in with no problem

I also get this message (see picture) for a few seconds when I go through the normal shutdown process. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with my problem or not.

Maybe this will help.
