You usually don’t find any information about it. Manufacure usually tell which one they use, even a device model might use different ones. You just need to start trying different device options, maybe you get lucky. A internet search can also help.

Yeah searching atm, having 0 luck though

I understand that. I my experiences with SMART and USB devices, it either worked nearly out of the box or it mostly never worked.

I give up, clearly seagate does not intend to be helpful to it’s customers so from now on I will NEVER buy their products again.

Quite often, these USB interfaces don’t report properly the SMART data if at all, but this is what I’d use if it does:
smartctl -ix /dev/sda
… run with sudo. I don’t have an SSD installed, I’d appreciate if someone who does can report if there’s any useful extra info reported when using one.
I get all this:

Summary
sudo smartctl -ix /dev/sda

The most important AFAIK being:

SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED

And yours have it, too:

So I think you’re good.

No, I don’t know about the rest of the values. Bu that can be easily found on the interwebz:

Gave it a try but still got this read Device Identity failed: scsi error unsupported field in scsi command, if the fact it’s in active use has something to do with the error then there’s nothing I can do about it since it hold my home directory and various other stuff
