In the past there was Clementine player which had an Android app and with that it could be completely controlled by phone. Unfortunately, it is dead horse since ages. Currently I use Strawberry which does a good job but it lacks the possibility to control it completely by phone. KDE connect offers just start, stop, forward and rewind. That might fit my urgent need that I can switch back to my local music collection when my radio station (which is at the bottom end of the playlist) is playing an ugly song. But I can’t seen the current playlist which would allow me to switch back five or more track when i want the hear them. Is there such a player somewhere. VLC or SMPlayer are great video players, but for me not an option because of the lack of a music collection management.

If you install KDEConnect on your Android, you should be able to control pretty much any media player on your Linux system. Just check that your player supports MPRIS2 - that wasn’t initially enabled on Audacious (my favourite audio player) but was easy enough to enable in the settings.

Thank you for your answer. MPRIS2 brings not more than KDE-Connect brings out of the Box: Rewind, Forward, Stop. I’m fine so far with that, control the playlist would be a wish
