hey,
just installed manjaro 5 days ago and i find lightdm a bit laggy;
im running the LTS kernel, and whenever i lock the screen there is a delay which goes from to 5s to 30s sometimes; any alternative to lightdm?
the rest of the system is working like a charm, this is my only ‘problem’ so far, but it would be great to make faster locking the screen
thanks in advance
I would better troubleshoot why this takes so long, but hey here are alternatives: Display manager - ArchWiki

are you using xfce as well? because i think its recommended for kde
My default DE is XFCE …
Although do I swap ( with the aid of sddm) between i3-gaps, XFCE, OpenBox …
No KDE though …
So sddm despite being “designed” for KDE , does not matter …
Recently I was thinking about to use “cdm” but still have not the time yet to tried it out …
And it requires AUR …

okei I’ll try sddm then;
lightdm is giving me a headache, every time that i lock the screen it takes about 15s to show the ‘enter password’ screen, and the same thing happens whenever i try to unlock the screen entering the password;
cdm sounds also like a good option, but i have to do a little research as well as you on how to set it properly
