The problem and solution are described in a kde plasmashell thread. Booting machine into KDE plasma (x11 or wayland) freezes with a centered frozen mouse and no keyboard effect. Downgrading to ddcutil 2.2.3 fixes it.
Im already on ddcutil 2.2.3 under stable release, are you maybe using Manjaro in Tested or Untested Branch?
On the chance that some clarification is needed, the Manjaro branches referred to are Testing or Unstable, respectively.

Any solution tends to depend on the problem being the same as the problem that the solution is supposed to fix.
Which particular thread were you referring to?
- At what point does the crash occur?
- Are you using SDDM or Plasma Login Manager?
