I have dual boot and noticed that laptop gets way warmer on Manjaro than on Windows 10.
I looked around and tried to tweak things.
I switched off turbo boost.
Switched off balooctl.
Installed thermald.
And yet after I turn on my laptop I’m still getting 55-60 degree temperatures.
paste <(cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone*/type) <(cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone*/temp) | column -s $'\t' -t | sed 's/...$/.0°C/'
INT3400 Thermal 20.0°C
SEN1 47.0°C
SEN2 47.0°C
SEN3 47.0°C
pch_cannonlake 55.0°C
B0D4 53.0°C
x86_pkg_temp 53.0°C
iwlwifi_1 60.0°C
PCH seems to be common issue, I’m not so sure about iwlwifi. d
I have only browser open right now and the back of my laptop is hot.
This doesn’t happen, or at least I never noticed it, on Windows 10 unless I game.
I have integrated and NVIDIA 1550ti, via Optimus I set NVIDIA as default.

That’s your WiFi chip. Something is wrong if it’s hotter than your CPU. Are your fans working? Maybe it’s time to clean out the dust bunnies.

Well, I tried to blow some dust away, but it didn’t look too bad, I can feel the fans at 55-60 degrees, though I don’t hear them. It’s just that it doesn’t overheat on Windows with the same hardware.

Which is? Please post your system info as outlined here:
Welcome to Manjaro!

Kernel: 5.9.16-1
5.9 is EOL (End Of Life) and has not received any updates since December. Try either the latest stable kernel which is currently 5.11 or an LTS (Long Term Support) kernel like 5.10 or 5.4.
There’s also a BIOS update available.

Thanks a lot. I switched to 11 and updated BIOS, I think it helped.
