Laptop screen turns off after connecting HDMI

Hi,
Everytime I try to connect my external screen via HDMI my laptop screen shuts down and I can’t get it back on, even though I see it in the display settings and try to reactivate it there.

I don’t have a Tuxedo laptop, but according to this picture:

You should be able to press Fn+F7 and your laptop will switch through a few screens (Mirror both display, external display only, internal display only and extend to both as your system is probably stuck on “external only”)
