Laptop hardware compatibility - Internal Graphics

How is the general landscape of hardware compatibility with respect to internal graphics? Looking to acquire a new computer (either desktop or laptop) but was wondering how careful one has to be when selecting one for Manjaro, and particularly if a dedicated GPU is necessary?

  • Perhaps the most important thing is 100hz (high bandwidth) external monitor support.

If anyone can recommend a quiet (low dB when not under load) brand or series which should be compatible, then please do so.
