Lags due to Network chip reset

Under irregularly recurring and seemingly random circumstances my entire system experiences massive lags. A recurring set of messages in the kernel states:

[ 72.017450] ath: phy1: Chip reset failed
[ 72.017452] ath: phy1: Unable to reset channel, reset status -22
[ 72.220245] ath: phy1: RX failed to go idle in 10 ms RXSM=0xffffffff
[ 72.230501] ath: phy1: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0xffffffff AR_DIAG_SW=0xffffffff DMADBG_7=0xffffffff

I tried turning off power saving as this is the only piece of advise I could get through search engines, to no avail

As a new or infrequent forum user, you are encouraged to take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements; in particular, the many ways to use the forum to your benefit:

The Update Announcements contain a Known Issues and Solutions section and should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

Output of the following command formatted according to forum requirements (see links above) is often useful (and this or similar will usually be asked for in Support threads):

inxi -zv8

Regards.
