KOrganizer does not show external Nextcloud CalDav events before you click on the calendar

I have an issue on starting up my KOrganizer. Before I can see the events on my externally hosted Nextcloud calendar, synced via CalDav, on my KOrganizer calendar, I need to click on the set of small calendars with the dates once. I only see local events before that.

There are no error messages. Waiting longer than the set sync interval does nothing. If I don’t click on the calendar overview, I won’t see the external events. This is mainly an issue if I forget to do it, have an event set to give an alarm, and my phone is somewhere I can’t hear it.

This may well be by design. However, don’t take this comment as being the source of truth, it’s at best an assumption.

Yeah. It is possible. I could go to the KDE-forums, I guess, but I just wouldn’t want YET another account. :persevering_face:

Disclaimer: no expert on next cloud

Have you considered if KOrganizer expects a push notification from your calendar service?

If this is the case then you may need to configure your next cloud instance for it.
