KMail did not get IMAP folders from Microsoft 365

I am currently trying to set up a Microsoft365 e-mail account in KMail. I know the needed settings, but KMail does not retrieve the IMAP folder structure.
A setup in Thunderbird with the same settings works.

Who has experience with Microsoft 365 or can tell me what I have to set to retrieve the folder structure (inbox, sent, trash, etc.) of the server?

You will need to enable IMAP in your mail account’s settings under Forwarding and IMAP.

@linux-aarhus, Thanks for the reply.

I think IMAP is activated.

Summary

If I set up the same e-mail address with Thunderbird, I can see all e-mails and folders.

After a reboot and a restart of Kmail, I can see the trash folder. Something is wrong in my setup or with Kmail!

Summary

Check the settings in Kmail - look for something often labelled as subscribed folders.

I don’t use mail clients - unless you count proton mail as a client - so I had to install kmail to check.

When I authenticated using the correct credentials (I have several aliases on my outlook account, only one of them can login) the account was fetched without further intervention.

I found the solution!

The solution to get the IMAP folder structure from Microsoft 365 e-mail is to disable the function as shown in the picture below. This setup will be fond in the receiving section of the e-Mail account.

So looking for subcribed folders as I said is the solution to the issue - right?

Your tip went in the right direction and was helpful in the further search. Thanks for that!

Only by removing the function marked in my picture were all folders collected from the Microsoft server. Only now is it possible to right-click on the IMAP folder in KMail to switch on the subscriptions for each folder. Therefore I have marked my post as the solution

I is a little strange that you need to remove the server-side subscription - on my test - it was set and it pulled all folders - as one would expect.
